A glimpse behind the scenes: • Testing and bulletproofing the latest mainnet version for maximum security and functionality. • Fixed vulnerability patches with further auditing of our storage code. • Compliance, patching, and testing of the latest version of Phantasma's mainnet, following our auditing partner Hacken's recommendations. • Updating and improving our developer documentation to make it easier for developers and non-developers to build on the Phantasma blockchain. • Creating how to guides for interacting with our wallets and using their main features to simplify things for new investors and reduce the support required. • Big improvements and added security to our TOMB compiler, with examples to help users to copy, paste, deploy and test their smart contracts. • Improvements to our SDKs: Phantasma Typescript library, Unity SDK, C++ for Unreal engine. • Lots of progress migrating the old data from the mainnet to our new chain version. • The Phantasma DEX smart contract is already deployed on our testnet. Improvements to the DEX frontend. • Added features to the Pharming dApp and our new and improved explorer. • Marketing and awareness building: Phantasma team members just attended one of the largest tech conferences in the world, Web Summit 2022, and we will be doing a lot more after our relaunch. We are committed to bringing you the best chain possible, and whilst we cannot commit to a go-live hard date yet, it's getting close. Community Update on platform upgrade and audits All issues currently raised by Hacken have been handled by our developer team. However, Hacken has asked for some more weeks to run additional tests to ensure that Phantasma is protected against the most recent cybersecurity threats: As made clear in our initial announcement detailing the major chain upgrade and audit, Phantasma is committed to becoming a decentralized blockchain owned by the community. With the current upgrade Phantasma is enabling a proven, scalable consensus mechanism to facilitates this. The new explorer is ready for launch. In the coming days we plan to make the current testnet based on the upgraded code public with the new blockchain explorer connected, allowing everyone to have a look and play around with the new functionality prior to resuming normal operations. Community Update on platform upgrade and audits The audit by Hacken is scheduled to be completed by the end of this week after taking longer than initially estimated. The auditors have prioritized quality and security and have also been surprised by how ambitious and complex the Phantasma blockchain is. This unfortunately has led to what will be a delay in resuming mainnet transactions. The ongoing string of blockchain related hacks and exploits keeps emphasizing the importance of a strict focus on security. We sincerely apologize for the continued inconvenience, and the full team is doing everything possible to get through this faster while making sure Phantasma is secure. In parallel with the effort to complete the new blockchain explorer, the new wallets and the ongoing DEX development, our developer team has been working based on preliminary reports and status updates from Hacken. Within a week after the completion of the audit of the blockchain, a final report will be generated by Hacken detailing the findings and any issues that need to be resolved. We will then know the full effort and time required to resolve the issues and can forecast an accurate date for completing the audit, implementing the upgrade, and resuming transactions. The current estimate is that we will be able to complete the entire process and resume transactions at the end of September. Starting in the next couple of weeks, frequent updates will be shared showing our developer team’s progress completing all tasks generated by the audit, enabling the community to follow the process more closely. What we are working on now to prepare for the relaunch: ▪️Actively addressing issues the auditors have already made us aware of ▪️Completing the DEX - We are in the final stages of testing and making tweaks to the tokenomics. Phantasma has been Attacked On April 28th, a second attack perpetrated by the same entity responsible for the April 2nd BSC exploit took place on the Phantasma mainnet. The attack appears to have been timed to coincide with the “All clear” announcement after the previous attack. Within 20 minutes of having announced that migration of tokens to new token contracts on BSC and Ethereum was live, the attacker minted 10M SOUL through a code exploit. Game Developer Conference 2022 Recap - Day 2 The 2nd Day Started Early… Even though the show floor wouldn’t be opening until 10am, the team found themselves meeting unplanned for breakfast in the hotel around 7:30a. In case you don’t know, this is a rather unusual thing to happen to a group of somewhat jet lagged middle-aged men from around the globe. A couple of the team members had been up for a couple of hours, the others woke up in the middle of the night around the same time, but every one of the team members went to sleep and woke up with Phantasma at the front of their minds. Game Developer Conference 2022 Recap - Day 1 When the Phantasma team learned that the Game Developer Conference was coming back in 2022, it didn’t take long before the booth space was reserved and the team got to work forging a plan. With over 15,000 guests expected and over 300 vendors, the GDC Expo was held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from March 23rd through 25th. The team arrived in full force in the days leading up to the event, with the last arriving the day before the show floor opened. The three-day event was far more than the Phantasma team could have ever expected or hoped for. We walked in as Cinderella at the ball and left with hundreds of new friends and opportunities. PSA: Incident Resolution Update As the team continues to gradually and methodically complete all tasks in accordance with our incident resolution playbook, we would like to update our SOULdiers on some of the progress thus far: ▪️New contracts for SOUL and KCAL on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain are close to completion and being tested ▪️The smart contracts on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain facilitating the migration from old to new contracts are complete and being tested, migration frontend is in development ▪️Multiple snapshots of the Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain blockchains have been secured at various relevant block heights (exact block heights will not be announced until the migration procedure is published to discourage speculative behaviour) ▪️The mathematical algorithms of our cross-chain liquidity incentivization protocol Pharming are being applied to snapshot data to assess liquidity provider balances before and after the incident - this involves interpreting historical NFT metadata (among other things) and is progressing well ▪️The analysis of trading history on DEXes for individual wallets is progressing well and partially complete All of the above tasks are progressing in parallel. Once complete, the data will be combined to form the basis for the token migration from old to new contracts on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain. With the massive amount of data being processed and synthesized it will naturally take some time before all boxes have been ticked and all results have been verified, and we will continue to keep everyone updated on the progression. For those who may not be fully up to date on recent events, we wish to remind everyone that the Phantasma mainnet is fully operational, Phantasma mainnet based assets and Neo based Phantasma assets are entirely unaffected, and trading on reputable centralized exchanges like Kucoin and Gate is safe. The team is not willing to rush this as we are committed to ensuring that our community is adequately taken care of and minimally affected by the incident. Phantasma Pharming dApp back live The Pharming dApp has been enabled to allow liquidity providers to collect Pharming rewards accumulated up until and including April 1st (before the incident). The cross-chain liquidity incentivization protocol Pharming will naturally be paused until new smart contracts have been deployed on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain and new liquidity pools created on Uniswap and PancakeSwap. As soon as new contracts and pools have been created, the Pharming machinery will be adjusted to fit the new contracts and pools, and liquidity incentivization will resume - on steroids. Don't shop on Uniswap or Pancakeswap at the moment guys. We're investigating and will sort this out. Kucoin and Neo based SOUL is unaffected and mainnet balances are unaffected. From what I can see so far we're talking about a bit less than 1% of SOUL supply There will be snapshots taken of balances prior to this incident on Ethereum / Binance Smart Chain All swapping has been disabled which ensures this cannot affect Kucoin liquidity, and no more tokens can be moved across chains until it has been sorted.
