🚨 Public Service Announcement 🚨 The Phantasma mainnet has resumed normal operations. All nodes are accepting transactions and all normal actions can be undertaken on-chain such as staking, minting NFTs, claiming KCAL and transferring tokens. Please note that swaps between Phantasma and Neo will resume within the next two days, enabling free flow of assets to and from centralized exchanges. Cross chain swaps between Phantasma and Ethereum/BSC will remain frozen until new smart contracts on these chains have been deployed. Pending cross chain swaps are not lost, but on hold, and will be claimable once we have implemented the necessary security measures. Since the incident occurred the entire team has rallied to investigate the incident, determine the cause and implement measure to rectify it, minimize the consequences and ensure our loyal token holders are as minimally affected as possible. We would like to reiterate that there are absolutely no signs that funds or contracts on Neo have been affected, all mainnet contracts are intact, and trading on centralized exchanges is entirely unaffected by the exploit. One final note from me for now; SOUL and KCAL on both Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum has been frozen so no transactions will occur during the investigation and funds currently still in LPs (or private wallets for that matter) will not be at risk. 🚨 Public Service Announcement 🚨 ▪️At 03:33:53 an incident occurred on Binance Smart Chain where an attacker managed to mint additional KCAL and SOUL tokens. ▪️TL;DR - All swaps between all chains have been disabled and all Phantasma RPCs have been set to read only while the investigation is ongoing. The damage to the SOUL token is quite limited (less than 1% of total supply). ▪️Attacker's origin address: https://bscscan.com/tx/0x8a9fc09738bddf8e84811402d8316410cee67d53b1f7708977d5aad23047b5c0 ▪️SOUL and KCAL smart contracts on Binance Smart Chain appear to have been affected. ▪️No other contracts have been exploited, the Phantasma mainnet is unaffected and not incolved in the incident. Nep5 SOUL on Neo is unaffected and there are no exploit tokens that have been swapped and sent to Kucoin or any other centralized exchange, and it will not be possible to do so later. ▪️The exploit was discovered within 20 minutes and all cross chain swaps were disabled within 30 minutes of the incident to reduce the impact of the incident. At this time 500k SOUL had been swapped from Binance Smart Chain to Ethereum along with 20M KCAL. 500k SOUL remained on Binance Smart Chain, for a total of 1M SOUL. The SOUL has already been sold, and the attacker does not appear to have any additional SOUL. No additional exploited assets can be cross chain swapped to the Phantasma mainnet, Ethereum or Neo. ▪️The incident had a significant impact on the token value of KCAL. The impact on the token value of SOUL is quite limited as the exploited amount equates to less than 1% of the circulating supply. This is less than 10% of what one single token holder sold over the course of some weeks in the autumn of 2021. ▪️While the investigation is ongoing, noone should trade on Pancakeswap or Uniswap. This applies to both SOUL and KCAL. Tokens in liquidity pools on Uniswap and PancakeSwap should be withdrawn to err on the side of caution until the investigation has concluded. ▪️Snapshots will be taken from Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum to assess token balances prior to the incident. ▪️ Expect new contracts for both KCAL and SOUL on Binance Smart Chain and associated airdrops to holders. ▪️Please refrain from excessive speculation and await the team's post mortem report of the incident.
